Deerfield  Region 1007 EXTRA Program Tryouts

During the week of May 12th Deerfield AYSO will be hosting tryouts for its "EXTRA" program. EXTRA is designed for players who have the interest, skills and abilities and want to enhance their experience and individual growth through soccer while retaining the spirit of and organizational membership in AYSO. This gives individual players who demonstrate both an ability and desire the opportunity to pursue soccer at a "higher" level while still adhering to the AYSO philosophies. We will be setting up boys and girls teams that will participate in the U10 division (3rd and 4th grade) and the U12 division (5th and 6th grade) in the 2014/2015 season.
EXTRA involves two additional weekly training sessions, one utilizing professional trainers and one utilizing volunteer team coaches, and one additional challenging game on the weekends, against other local north suburban EXTRA teams. EXTRA games will be in addition to the weekly games played on Sundays. EXTRA games will likely be played on Sundays (same as this year) after the regular team games are completed. Players will need to play on both their EXTRA team and their regular team in order to be eligible for the program.

Tryouts will be held the week of May 12th at Wilmot school per the following schedule:
U10B Monday May 12th 6:15-7:45pm
U10G Tuesday May 13th 6:15-7:45pm
U12B Wednesday May 14th 6:15-7:45pm
U12G Thursday May 15th 6:15-7:45pm

You will need to sign up your son or daughter in advance by filling out a try out registration form and emailing it to:

2014/2015 program costs are being finalized. Program costs for the 2013/2014 were $250 for the entire year (this was in addition to the 2013/2014 core program costs of $125)

EXTRA volunteer coaches will need advanced AYSO training (at least U12). Parents of players are also highly encouraged to volunteer as referees for the games. Parents will be able to specify their willingness to volunteer as the Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or Referee on their child's tryout registration form. In the event we need additional volunteer coaches or referees, preference will be given to players whose parents volunteer to fill those positions.

Please let me know if you have any questions and whether you'd like to sign your child up for tryouts. Thank you.
